Problems playing video
The video will not load and shows a signing message
Most likely causes
- Your player link has expired. Fix: reload the page. The video loads and plays. Each link lasts a limited time.
- The screen reads Media signing temporarily unavailable.. Fix: contact support. Nobody can play a video until support changes the setting. Your work is safe.
The video stops after a few seconds
Most likely causes
- The tab has been open a long time. Fix: reload the page. The video plays again.
- The network is slow. Fix: wait for the video to buffer, then press play again. The video runs without stopping.
- Another heavy tab is using the machine. Fix: close other tabs and try once more.
The spacebar does not pause the video
Most likely causes
- Your cursor is in a text box. Fix: click the video once, then press the space bar. The video pauses. A text box receives the space bar instead of the player.
- A dialog is open on top. Fix: close the dialog, then press the space bar. The video pauses.
The video takes a moment to jump when I click a word
Most likely causes
- The player has to load that part first. Fix: wait about one second. The picture catches up. The timeline marker moves at once.
- The file is very large. Fix: this is normal on long or high-quality files. Nothing is broken.
The marker snaps to a nearby edge
Most likely causes
- Snapping is on by design. Fix: you do not need to do anything. The marker pulls to a nearby annotation edge, so your times line up. To place the marker freely, zoom the timeline in. The marker moves in smaller steps.
The picture is black but I can hear sound
Most likely causes
- Your browser cannot show this codec. Fix: try Chrome or Edge. Save the file as MP4 with H.264 if it still fails.
- Hardware acceleration is failing. Fix: turn hardware acceleration off in your browser settings. Then reload the page. The picture appears.
If the screen shows an error message, look it up in All error messages.
If it still does not work: contact support. Include the page address from the browser bar, the date and time, your browser and its version, the exact words on the screen, and what you clicked.
