Problems with tagging

Word search finds nothing

Most likely causes

  1. The videos in view are not tagged. Fix: tagging runs only after you set a language. Open each video. At the top of the transcript panel, click the chip that reads Set language. Pick the spoken language. The chip changes to Tagging…, then to Tagged · es.
  2. You searched a form that is not there. Fix: search by lemma instead of the exact word. The search finds "run", "ran" and "running" together.
  3. The videos in view have no transcript. Fix: transcribe them first. The text appears in the transcript panel.

Tagging will not start

Most likely causes

  1. The video has no language. Fix: at the top of the transcript panel, click the chip that reads Set language. Pick the spoken language. The chip changes to Tagging…, then to Tagged · ca.
  2. The video has no transcript. Fix: run Transcribe first. Tagging reads the text, not the sound.
  3. Your language is not supported. Fix: tagging works in 3 languages: Español, Català / Valencià and English. Contact support if you need another one.

It says tagging is already running

Most likely causes

  1. A run is already running. Fix: wait. Most videos finish in a few seconds. The chip changes to Tagged · en.
  2. You clicked twice. Fix: wait for the chip to change, then look again.

It says tagging timed out

Most likely causes

  1. The run passed 10 minutes. Fix: click the chip and choose Re-tag transcript. The chip changes to Tagging…. Most runs are far quicker.
  2. The transcript is very long. Fix: try once more. Tell support if it fails twice.

The linguistic module is empty

Most likely causes

  1. No tagged video is in view. Fix: check the scope of the module. Add a video whose chip reads Tagged · es, or your own language code. A red Tagging failed · retry chip means the run failed. An amber Re-tag needed chip means the video needs a new run.
  2. Tagging failed on those videos. Fix: open each one and click its Tagging failed · retry chip. The chip changes to Tagging….

The tags look wrong for my language

Most likely causes

  1. The wrong language is set. Fix: click the chip and pick the right language under Change language. Changing the language does not tag again by itself: the chip turns amber and reads Re-tag needed. Click it and choose Re-tag transcript.
  2. The speech mixes two languages. Fix: pick the main one. Tagging runs on that language. Tagging handles one language per video.

I edited the transcript and the tags are stale

Most likely causes

  1. The new run has not finished yet. Fix: wait a moment. Every saved edit starts tagging again by itself. The chip shows Tagging… and then Tagged · en.
  2. The chip reads Re-tag needed (you changed the language). Fix: click the chip and choose Re-tag transcript. The chip changes to Tagging…. See the guide Tag again after editing.
