Module
A module is one view of your data inside a workspace. Each module shows a chart, a table or a search. A workspace can hold many modules at once. Each module can also use its own scope, which is not the same as the scope of the workspace.
Example: You build a workspace for a study of gesture. You add 3 modules. One counts the marks per type, one shows them across the lesson, and one lists them with the words around them.
Why it matters in GRAPE MARS
GRAPE MARS has 11 modules today:
- Category Breakdown
- Annotation Distribution
- Duration Distribution
- Timeline Density
- Timeline Coverage
- Co-occurrence Heatmap
- Mode Combinations
- Cross-video Comparison
- Inter-rater Agreement
- Concordance
- Linguistic profile
Each module counts the annotations in its scope, for the videos that the scope names. Some group their results by category rather than by type. 5 of them have a concept page here: coverage, density, co-occurrence, Cohen's kappa and concordance. When you send a workspace to Excel, each module becomes one sheet in the file.
