Annotation type

An annotation type is a kind of thing you watch for, such as "Gaze" or "Gesture". Every annotation has one type. A type has a name and a color, and it can hold sub-types. Some types let their annotations overlap in time. Other types do not, so one annotation must end before the next one starts.

Example: A study of English lessons uses 3 types: "Teacher question", "Student answer" and "Gesture". Each type has its own color, so the timeline is easy to read.

Why it matters in GRAPE MARS

You pick a type before you mark a moment. Each type has its own track, so the rows in the timeline stay clear. Types live in the library of a project, and each one sits in a category. That is how a whole team codes with the same set.
