Segment
A segment is one line of a transcript. It has a start time, an end time, and the words said between them. GRAPE MARS shows the segments in order, so the transcript reads like a script of the lesson. AI transcription cuts the segments for you. An SRT file brings its own. A TXT file becomes 1 long segment.
Example: One segment runs from 00:12 to 00:18. Its text is "Open your books at page 20". The coder reads it next to the annotations she made at that moment.
Why it matters in GRAPE MARS
Segments are how the transcript panel matches the text to the video. You edit a transcript one segment at a time, and each line keeps its own times. Because the times are there, GRAPE MARS can match the words to your annotations.
