AI features available today
Read which AI features you can use in GRAPE MARS today. Most of them need no key and cost you nothing.

Transcription
GRAPE MARS writes down what people say in your video. It runs on the site's own service, so you need no key and you pay nothing.
- It gives you segments with times, and a time for every word.
- You can then show the transcript as subtitles, or click a word to jump there.
- Choose how it runs in Settings, on the AI Services tab.
Linguistic tagging
After you state the language of a video, GRAPE MARS reads its transcript. For every word it records the lemma, the part of speech and whether it is a named entity. This needs no key either.
Tagging is what makes the word search and the linguistic module work.
Your own AI key
You can connect a key from Mistral AI or from Google Gemini in Settings, on the AI Services tab. GRAPE MARS stores it in a safe form, for your own work alone. No AI feature you can reach today uses that key, so no company bills you yet.

What is not here yet
AI does not write annotations for you. In the Library Manager, the 2 AI tracks carry a Coming soon badge, and you cannot drag them onto your library.
A track shows the Run AI button only when a model is linked to it. No track you build today can carry a model, so no button appears.
Your admin can register models and read how they do. Those pages are ready before the models are.
Check it worked
Open a video with sound and start a transcription. Words appear with times, and GRAPE MARS asks you for no key.
