Coverage

Coverage is the share of a video that has at least one annotation. GRAPE MARS calculates it for each category separately, not for the whole video at once. It merges the annotations in a category first, so 2 marks on the same seconds count once. Coverage counts time, not the number of marks.

Example: A lesson lasts 12 minutes. Gesture annotations cover 9 of those minutes, so Gesture coverage is 75%. Talk annotations cover 6 minutes, so Talk coverage is 50%. Each category gets its own figure.

Why it matters in GRAPE MARS

The Timeline Coverage module answers a plain question: how much of the lesson did you code in each category? Its subtitle says "Merged annotated share of the video per category". It helps you find the parts you have not looked at yet. It is also a quick check before you trust a count.
