Concordance

What this screen is for: searching your work and reading each hit with the words around it.

  1. Searching for: a pair of buttons, Annotations and Words. They give you 2 different searches.
  2. Tiers and Content: the Annotations search. Pick tracks, or the text of a mark, or both.
  3. Speaker: appears only when this module looks at one single video.
  4. Lemma, Surface form, Part of speech, Entity type: the Words search over tagged transcripts.
  5. Sort: Chronological, Grouped by video, or Random sample.
  6. Context: how many words you see on each side, from 0 to 15.
  7. Scope override: the scope of this module alone: its videos, its coders, its fragment and its speakers.
  8. The list: one line per hit. It scrolls on its own, inside the module.
  9. A line: the video name, the time, a colored chip, the coder, the speaker, then the text with the hit in bold.
  10. Arrow: opens a small player at that moment. It stops 5 seconds later. One line opens at a time.

Notices sit above the list. An amber notice names videos that are transcribed but not tagged, which the Words search did not read. A gray notice says the list was cut short.

The words "segment-level" on a line mean the video has no word-level timing. The context then comes from a whole segment, and the time is less exact. See precision.
