Coder
A coder is the person who makes an annotation. You do not set the coder by hand. GRAPE MARS notes the signed-in user behind each one. That note stays with the annotation, so you can always see who marked what. GRAPE MARS also records whether a mark came from a person, from AI, or from an import. 2 people can code the same video, and GRAPE MARS keeps their work apart.
Example: 2 researchers code the same lesson for teacher questions. They then check how far they agree, before they divide the other 11 lessons between them.
Why it matters in GRAPE MARS
The coder on each annotation is what makes agreement tests possible. The Inter-rater Agreement module compares 2 coders on the same video and reports a score. You can also read a workspace for 1 coder only, to see that person's work separately.
