Super-admin

A super-admin is a person who manages the whole site, not one project. The GRAPE MARS team sets this flag in the database. You cannot turn it on for yourself, and you cannot ask for it on a screen. A super-admin sees the Admin area. An admin who is not a super-admin sees part of that area.

Example: A team uploads 20 lesson videos for a new study. The videos will not tag, and the researchers cannot see why. A super-admin opens the Admin area, finds them in the list of transcripts, and states the language of each one. Tagging then starts.

Why it matters in GRAPE MARS

The Admin area holds the lists of users, projects, AI models, transcripts, logs and tests. It also holds the Project Status page. This is where site-wide work happens, such as help with a transcript or a check on a user account. A role works inside one project; this flag works across the site.
