Tagging
Tagging is the step that reads a transcript word by word. For each word it stores the lemma, the part of speech, and whether the word names something. GRAPE MARS does this with a language tool called spaCy. Tagging starts automatically, a few seconds after you state the language of the video. It works with English, Spanish and Catalan (Valencian).
Example: You upload a lesson in Spanish and add the transcript. You set the language of the video to Spanish. A few seconds later the chip next to the transcript moves from untagged to tagging, and then to tagged.
Why it matters in GRAPE MARS
The chip tells you where the video stands: untagged, tagging, tagged or failed. Word search in the Concordance module works only on a video that is tagged. GRAPE MARS tags a video again only when the text of the transcript changes.
