Precision (word or segment)
Precision says how exact the time of a search hit is. A hit with word precision points to the word itself. A hit with segment precision points to the whole line of the transcript that holds the word. GRAPE MARS uses word precision when the transcript has word-level timing. If it does not, the hit points to the segment instead.
Example: A teacher says "why" at 04:12. The transcript line that holds it starts at 04:08. With word precision the hit takes you to 04:12. With segment precision it takes you to 04:08, and you may need to listen for a few seconds.
Why it matters in GRAPE MARS
The Concordance module shows the precision of each hit, so you know how exact the time is. Word precision lets you jump to the exact moment in the video. This matters when you count short events, such as a nod or a short question.
