Error messages A to C
Messages that start with the letters A, B or C. The full list is in All error messages.
Access denied
When you see it: when you open or change an item in a project that is not shared with you.
What it means: you are not a member of any project that holds this item.
What to do: ask the project owner to add you as a collaborator.
Not the same as: Insufficient permissions.
Admin access required
When you see it: when you open an admin page without an admin account.
What it means: only administrators can open that page.
What to do: go back to your projects. Ask your administrator for admin or super-admin rights.
Also shown as: Forbidden, Forbidden: admin access required, Forbidden: super-admin access required.
AI analysis failed
When you see it: in the annotator, after you click Run AI on a track.
What it means: the AI model did not finish. The rest of the message says why.
What to do: try a shorter video. Check your key in Settings.
Also shown as: Classification failed, Persist failed, No suggestions generated.
Annotation set not found
Where it comes from: GRAPE MARS never shows this text. On the Settings page, in the My Annotations tab, you see Failed to delete annotation set, Failed to update annotation set, Failed to add type or Failed to remove type instead.
What it means: the annotation set is gone, or your page is old.
What to do: reload the page. The list shows what is left.
Annotation type not found
Where it comes from: GRAPE MARS never shows this text. On the Settings page, in the My Annotations tab, you see Failed to update annotation type or Failed to delete annotation type instead.
What it means: the annotation type is gone, or your page is old.
What to do: reload the page. Then try again.
Audio file required
When you see it: in the transcript panel, when you start AI transcription.
What it means: GRAPE MARS could not read sound from the video.
What to do: play the video and listen. Upload it again if it is silent.
Audio is too large
The whole message is Audio is 24MB — maximum is 10MB. Try a shorter video.
When you see it: in the transcript panel, when you start AI transcription.
What it means: the sound is over the 10 MB limit.
What to do: cut the video into short parts.
Cannot delete the only speaker on a video
Where it comes from: GRAPE MARS never shows this text. The annotator hides the delete control on the last speaker tab, so you cannot start this action.
What it means: every video keeps at least one speaker.
What to do: add a new speaker first. Then delete the old one.
Cannot delete: user has annotations in other projects
The whole message names a number, such as Cannot delete: user has 12 annotation(s) in projects they do not own. Reassign or remove those annotations (via the owning project) first.
When you see it: on the admin Users page, when an admin deletes a user.
What it means: that person made annotations in projects other people own.
What to do: open the project that owns those annotations. Move or delete them there. Then delete the account.
Cannot remove the project owner
When you see it: on the project page, when you remove a person.
What it means: the owner cannot leave their own project.
What to do: leave the owner in place. Ask your administrator for help.
Cannot update this annotation type
Where it comes from: GRAPE MARS never shows this text. On the Settings page, in the My Annotations tab, you see Failed to update annotation type, Failed to delete annotation type, Failed to update annotation set or Failed to delete annotation set instead.
What it means: the type or set is built in, or another person made it.
What to do: make your own copy. There is no Duplicate control, so create a new type with the same name and your changes. Open the My Annotations tab on the Settings page. Then click New Type.

Cinema model not uploaded yet
Where it comes from: GRAPE MARS never shows this text. It uses the Gemini model instead, and the AI run finishes.
What it means: the cinema model file is not on the server yet.
What to do: nothing. Contact support if the shot types look wrong.
Also shown as: Storage unavailable.
Collaborator not found
When you see it: on the project page, when you remove a person.
What it means: that person is no longer on the project.
What to do: reload the page. The list shows who is left.
Compression failed
The whole message is Compression failed — uploading the original file (this may be slow).
When you see it: in the upload window, while GRAPE MARS shrinks a large video.
What it means: your browser could not shrink the file.
What to do: wait. The upload still works, but it is slower.
Could not load this video
When you see it: on the video player, in the annotator.
What it means: the player could not read the video file.
What to do: reload the page. Upload the video again if it fails.
Current and new password are required
When you see it: on the Settings page, in the Account tab.
What it means: one of the two boxes is empty.
What to do: fill in both boxes. Then click Change password.
Current password is incorrect
When you see it: when you change your password, or delete your account.
What it means: the password does not match your account.
What to do: type it again with care. Or ask your administrator for a reset.
