Sign out, and what an expired session looks like
Sign out when you leave a computer, and learn what happens when your sign-in runs out on its own.
Before you start
- Nothing to save first. GRAPE MARS keeps every change as you make it. See autosave.
Steps
- Click your name at the top right of the page. A short menu opens.
- Click Sign Out. The sign-in page opens.
The settings page holds the same button. It sits under the list on the left.
Check it worked
The sign-in page asks for your email and password. Your name is gone from the top right.
What an expired session looks like
Your sign-in does not last for ever. How long it lasts depends on how you signed in.
- Sign in with your email and password: 30 days. Without Remember me, 24 hours.
- Create account: 7 days.
- Continue with Google: 7 days.
The server holds this clock. It checks the clock when the site asks who you are, and on every admin page. So a 7-day sign-in stops working there first. Sign out, then sign in again with your email.
When it runs out, GRAPE MARS shows the sign-in page again. There is no warning and no message. You may see it when you open the site, or the moment you click something.
Nothing is lost. Sign in again and open the same video. Your work is where you left it.
Sign out on a shared computer
- Click your name at the top right.
- Click Sign Out.
Then close the browser window. Untick Remember me when you sign in on a computer that other people use. Your sign-in then ends after 24 hours.
