Manage transcripts and languages
See every video with a transcript in one list. Set the language of each one there, which starts tagging.
Before you start
- You need to be a super-admin. An admin without that flag sees an error here.
- Tagging needs a language. GRAPE MARS cannot guess it.
- Stating a language starts tagging by itself. There is no separate button for a whole list.
Steps
- Open the Admin area. The Project Status page opens.
- Click Overview in the bar on the left, then Transcripts. The heading reads "Transcripts & linguistic tagging". The line under it counts the videos, and the ones with no language yet. (Until the next update the Project Status and Tests pages show a shorter sidebar without Transcripts; open Overview first.)
- Select a language in the Language box on a row. The row shows "Tagging…" and the list refreshes itself.
- Wait for the row to read Tagged. A green tick appears next to the word.
Rows with no language sit at the top. They are your work list. An amber border marks each one.
Read the Tagging column
- Untagged: grey. No work has run.
- Tagging…: a turning circle. Work is running now.
- Tagged: a green tick. Move the pointer onto it. It names the model.
- Failed: a red triangle. Move the pointer onto it. It gives the reason.
Tag again
The Action column changes with the state:
- Tag now: the language is set but nothing has run.
- Retry: the last run failed.
- Re-tag: the video is tagged. Use this after someone edits the transcript.
Refresh, at the top right, loads the list again.
Check it worked
The count of videos "without a declared language" falls to 0. Every row reads Tagged.
If something goes wrong
- Tagging will not start
- It says tagging timed out
