Edit the whole transcript

Open every line of the transcript at once, so you can clean it up in one pass.

Before you start

• The editor or owner role on the project.

Steps

1. Open the video in the annotator. The transcript panel sits at the right of the player.
2. Click the pencil in the panel header. Its label reads Edit transcript. Every line turns into a text box.
3. Type your changes in as many boxes as you like. Each box holds your text.
4. Click Save all. The boxes close and the new text shows.

Check it worked

A grey Edited mark sits beside each line you changed.

Enter starts a new line here. It does not save. Only Save all saves.

Click the cross beside Save all to drop every change.

If you change nothing, Save all saves nothing. To store a file you uploaded, change at least one word.

Each save sends the whole transcript to the server. If the video has a language, tagging then runs again.

If something goes wrong

• The transcript I typed is gone
• I edited the transcript and the tags are stale
