Edit a transcript line

Correct the words in one segment of the transcript. The change saves on its own.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Open the video in the annotator. The transcript panel sits at the right of the player.
  2. Open the pencil by moving your pointer over the line you want to change. A small pencil appears.
  3. Click the pencil. The line turns into a text box.
  4. Type the right words. The box holds your text.
  5. Press Enter. The box closes and the new words show.

Check it worked

A gray Edited mark sits beside the line you changed.

Your change goes to the server at once. There is no save button: this is autosave, as in the rest of the annotator.

Press Escape to drop the change. Clicking away from the box saves it, like Enter.

Each save sends the whole transcript. If the video has a language, tagging then runs again on the new text.
