Remove a collaborator

Take a colleague off your project, so they can no longer open it or its videos. Their work stays.

Before you start

  • You must own the project. Only the owner can remove people. See Role.
  • You cannot remove the owner, and you cannot remove yourself.
  • GRAPE MARS removes the person as soon as you click. There is no question to answer first, and no undo.

Steps

  1. Open the project page. The Collaborators panel is further down the page. It lists the people on this project. Each row has a name, an email address and a badge.
  2. Click the cross at the right end of the row of the person you want to remove. The tooltip of the cross reads Remove collaborator.
  3. Wait for the list to load again. The name is gone, and the number next to the heading goes down by 1.

The owner has no cross, because nobody can remove the owner. If you are not the owner, no row has a cross. The panel then says: "Only the project owner can add or remove collaborators."

In the annotator's collaborator popover (toolbar Invite or In this session), the add and remove controls show for everyone. A non-owner sees the owner-only message only after they click. A fix is planned.

Check it worked

The Collaborators panel no longer lists that person. They cannot open the project or its videos any more. If they try, GRAPE MARS shows a not-found message.

Their annotations stay in the project, with their name on them as the coder. To give the access back, invite them again with the same email address.
