Declare the spoken language
Tell GRAPE MARS which language people speak in this video, as you upload it. This helps transcription and tagging.
Why it helps. The transcript comes out better. It also opens the door to tagging, the step that reads each word. Tagging needs a language.
Before you start
- Upload a video: you set the language while you upload.
- Tagging: what the language is used for.
Steps
- Open your project. Its video list opens.
- Click Add Video. The upload window opens.
- Select a language under Spoken language. The box shows your choice.
- Drop your file on the dashed box. The upload starts.
The list holds three languages: Español, Català / Valencià and English. The fourth choice, Not set, leaves the field empty.
The field is optional. You can leave it as Not set and choose later. The chip above the transcript in the annotator does the same job.
Check it worked
The language box sits inside the dashed drop area, at its foot. It shows your language, not Not set. After the upload, the annotator shows that language on the transcript chip.
