Edit types, colours and sub-types
Rename the rows of your library, change their colours, and add or remove sub-types.
Before you start
Steps
- Click Manage Library at the foot of the track panel. The Library Manager opens.
- Click the name of a row. The name turns into a text box.
- Type the new name and press Enter. The row keeps the new name.
- Click the round colour dot on the left of the row. A grid of 12 colours opens.
- Click a colour, or type a hex code. It needs a # and 6 digits. Click OK to use it.
- Click the green + on a track row. A new sub-type row appears under it.
- Drag the handle at the left of a row to move it. A blue line shows where it will land.
- Click the bin icon at the right of a row to remove it. Rows that hold work ask you to confirm first.
- Click Apply Library. Your changes reach the timeline.
Two shortcuts
Right-click any row for a menu with Rename, an add option and Delete. The bin icon and the + stay hidden until you point at the row.
The layers icon on a track row is the overlap switch. Its tooltip reads Allow overlapping. Turn it on to stack bars at the same moment.
Check it worked
The colour belongs to the annotation type, so every bar on that track changes at once. A sub-type with its own colour paints a thin stripe on the left of each bar.
