Export to ELAN (.eaf)
Save your annotations as an .eaf file that opens in ELAN, with one tier for each annotation type.
Before you start
Steps
- Open the videos page of your project. You see the card named "Project".
- Click Export data. The dialog Export Data opens.
- Click ELAN under Format. The line under the tabs describes the file.
- Select the videos you want. A grey line counts the marks.
- Click Export ELAN. GRAPE MARS saves the file and closes the dialog.
Check it worked
With one video you get a single .eaf file, named after the video and the date. With 2 videos or more you get a .zip file that holds one .eaf per video.
The file follows the ELAN Annotation Format, and it works with ELAN 5 and later.
Each track becomes one ELAN tier. The text of a mark becomes the text of the ELAN annotation. Times keep the values you set in GRAPE MARS.
The file names your video, but it does not carry the video itself. ELAN may ask you where the media is. Point it at your own copy of the file.
The transcript is not part of this file. Use the Excel or CSV export for text.
