How workspaces save
Learn how an analysis page saves itself, and how to make a copy of one. There is no save button.
Before you start
Steps
- Click anything that changes the page, such as a slider or a name. The word "Unsaved changes" appears next to the title.
- Wait for about 1 second. The word turns into "Saving…", then into "Saved" with a green tick.
Check it worked
The state next to the title reads Saved. There is no save button in a workspace, and you do not need one.
GRAPE MARS waits about 1 second after your last change, then sends the page to the server. It also sends the page when you leave the workspace or hide the tab. If a save fails, the state reads "Save failed — retrying", and GRAPE MARS tries again on your next change.
These things are saved: the title, the scope, which modules are on the page, their order, their titles, their settings, and each scope override.
These things are not saved: which settings panels you left open, and which search results you left open. They come back closed.
Make a copy
Click Save as… in the header. GRAPE MARS makes a second workspace named after the first, with "(copy)" at the end, and opens it. Your first page stays as it was. Rename the copy, then work on it.
