Edit an annotation

Change the value, the start time or the end time of a bar you already made.

Before you start

• Create an annotation by dragging

Steps

1. Click a bar on the timeline once. A yellow ring marks it.
2. Click the same bar twice, fast. A small box opens next to it.
3. Select a new sub-type from the list. On a free-text track this field is a text box named Value.
4. Type a new time in Start or End. Use the form 1:23.456, which is minutes, seconds and thousandths.
5. Click Save. The box closes and the bar moves to its new place.

What you cannot change here

You cannot move a bar to another track. The annotation type is fixed when you create the bar. To use another type, delete this bar and drag a new one on the right track.

A start time that is not before the end time is ignored. The bar keeps its old times.

Check it worked

The bar shows its new value once it is wide enough for text. Zoom in if the label is missing.

Clicking outside the box also saves your changes. Press Escape to close it and keep the old values.

If something goes wrong

• Dragging feels jumpy
• Every track is the same colour
