Export for R

Save your annotations as a comma file with plain column names, ready to read into R or Python.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Open the videos page of your project. You see the card named "Project".
  2. Click Export data. The dialog Export Data opens.
  3. Click R / CSV under Format. The line under the tabs names the file.
  4. Select the videos you want. A grey line counts the marks.
  5. Click Export R / CSV. GRAPE MARS saves the file and closes the dialog.

Check it worked

With one video you get a single .csv file. With 2 videos or more you get a .zip file that holds annotations.csv and README.txt.

The columns are video_id, video_name, annotator_id, annotator_name, category, type, subtype, start_ms, end_ms, duration_ms, start_s, end_s, duration_s and created_at.

Times come twice, in milliseconds and in seconds. Use whichever suits your code.

The coder comes twice too. Use annotator_id to join tables, because it never changes. Use annotator_name to read.

README.txt holds the project name, the date, the counts, and a few lines of R to start with. It names 2 packages: tidyverse for shaping and charts, and irr for agreement.

The file uses the comma as its mark. Spanish Excel expects the semicolon, so it may put every field in one column. Use the Excel file instead when that happens.
