When tagging is blocked or fails
Find the way out of each state that stops tagging, from a missing language to a failed run.
Before you start
- The video open in the annotator, so you can see the chip.
Steps
- Open the video in the annotator. The chip in the transcript panel header shows the state.
- Click the chip. A menu opens, or a new run starts.
- Wait for the chip to settle. It reads Tagged · es, with your own language code.
Check it worked
3 things block a run, and each has one fix:
- No language. The chip reads Set language. Pick a language to start tagging. See Set a transcript language before tagging.
- No transcript. The chip refreshes and stays as it was, because tagging needs text to read. Transcribe the video first. See Video has no transcript to tag.
- A run is going. The chip reads Tagging… and checks again every 4 seconds. Wait for it. See Tagging is already running for this video.
A red Tagging failed · retry chip means the run stopped. Click the chip to start a new one.
A run that passes 10 minutes counts as failed, and the note reads Tagging timed out. Most runs take a few seconds, so try once more. Contact support if it fails twice.
